Carpodacus mexicanus
The 2 male House Finch's here show 2 ends of the spectrum for how much red can be on the breast. The first one almost looks like a Purple Finch, but the white wing bars and faint brown streaks on the side of the breast belong to House Finch.

Thanks Mark. Today was a mild day around 48F, but 4 days ago we got 6 inches of wet heavy snow. There were around 75 of these birds in the fields at this location today, and 2 weeks ago there was the largest flock of House Finches I've ever seen with at least 300 birds.
Very nice indeed Tom. I Hope they're surviving the current weather.
