Flea Beetle

Unidentified Alticini

Description:

Chrysomelidae; Galerucinae; Alticini Spinola, 1844. Unidentified Alticini. "The adults are very small to moderately sized Chrysomelidae (i.e. among beetles in general they are on the smallish side). They are similar to other leaf beetles, but characteristically have the hindleg femora greatly enlarged." Wikipedia. I thought I only got one photo of this Flea Beetle, but when I looked at it on my laptop screen, I noticed a very out-of-focus beetle at the bottom left corner. So I showed the whole leaf beside the cropped image, just to emphasize that there were multiple Flee Beetles present on the vegetables.

Habitat:

I spotted this Flee Beetle on a Radish (Raphanus raphanistrum) in our vegetable plot.

Notes:

Plant identification - http://www.stuartxchange.com/Labanos.htm... Labanos is the local name for Radish in the Philippines.
