Blue corporal

Ladona deplanata

Description:

Known as a spring ephemeral dragonfly, the Blue corporal is one to look out for now. The adult male has a deep blue abdomen due to it's pruinosity. The immature male and female have brown abdomens with yellow side stripes. The head and thorax are dark brown with yellow corporal stripes on the thorax.

Habitat:

The Blue corporal perches flat like the Common white tail and the Eastern pondhawk.

Notes:

The second photo is of a Blue corporal and Eastern pondhawk fighting for the same territory. This behavior continued on and off for hours.
