Campanula patula
Spreading bellflower is a biennial herbaceous plant, reaching the heights of 75 to 80cm. The inflorescences are produced in the second year from the initial basal rosette. These stalks have few flowers, (pale to dark blue) and they are grouped in loose terminal racemes.
Spreading bellflower is native to temperate parts of Europe, and its natural habitats are meadows, clearings and open woodland, fallow fields and waste ground. Here seen in rather rural or semi-urban setting: in a very calm small rural town not too far away from Geneva, in its big wooded park with large meadow. The town and the park are close to slopes of Jura and coasts of lake Leman (Geneva).
