The wing buckle is between 5 and 6 cm. The colors are orange, ocher and it has some marked dark spots. Along the forewings, it has white and black spots.
The butterfly is an immigrant to Norway. It is lot of them this year. You will find them where it grows thistles, but also in flowered places.
