Aegithalos caudatus
These are some winter shots of long tailed tits. They are not so great but since so far I did not find any new chances, here they are. This species has been described as a tiny (at only 13–15 cm in length, including its 7–9 cm tail), round-bodied tit with a short, stubby bill and a very long, narrow tail. The sexes look the same and young birds undergo a complete moult to adult plumage before the first winter. The plumage is mainly black and white, with variable amounts of grey and pink.
Globally widespread throughout temperate northern Europe and Asia, into boreal Scandinavia and south into the Mediterranean zon. It inhabits deciduous and mixed woodland with a well-developed shrub layer, favouring edge habitats. It can also be found in scrub, heathland with scattered trees, bushes and hedges, in farmland and riverine woodland, parks and gardens.

My parents have a feeder that they visit, but I can only try and photograph them through the window so not a great success either ..
The funny thing is that my boyfriends parents have a feeder in front of their kitchen window and they often see these guys coming but I did not have the chance to be there when it happens :-)
Lovely birds, but I agree difficult to capture :)
Thanks for the nice comment. For me these birdies are so elegant, they look like drawings :-)
I love these little tits, they are such characters.
