Bellis perennis
The quintessential wildflower. The daisy consists of a yellow disc of small florets, surrounded by many elongated white florets. Young flowers are often tinged with pink at the tips. While widely naturalised to many parts of North America (we had these flowers on our lawn when I lived in Ontario), it is native to the majority of Europe. The flowers open in the morning and follow the sun, closing once it sets. They are perennial flowers.
Very hardy plants, hence they have earned a reputation as a tough weed. It most commonly occurs in short grasslands (this is why it does well on lawns) and meadows, though often seen at roadsides.
While these plants are pretty much everywhere, these particular photos were taken at a small grassy patch near the University of Essex lakes.
