Cape Dwarf Day Gecko

Description:

Small gecko spotted at a friends house. Very useful animal to get rid of the ants and termites around the house! The difference between a lizard and a gecko can be seen in the tail. Some gecko's throws this part off when frightened. The tail goes into convulsions keeping the attention of the predator while the gecko gets away and eventually grows a new tail.

Habitat:

North eastern top corner of South Africa.
