Carol, great photo! I agree with gatorfellows below. I have 2 spottings so far of Ebony Jewelwings, and yours looks like that species of damselfly.

Think you have a male Ebony Jewelwings females have a white spot at the tip of the wing - males do not. See http://bugguide.net/node/view/601
