This bird is distinct in it has an undulating flight pattern and during flight you can see white bars on the wings. This is a male as it is all black. The female is a dark grey. Both sexes have a red eye. During the spring you can find them where there are a lot of mistletoe berries. Both birds have a crest and causing the bird to be referred to as a black cardinal, but it is about have the size and it is a flycatcher.
