Description:

This snail's particular whirl-like shell makes it the only verteginid snail of its family. This snail is 2-3cm, and its color grazes from brown to dark yellow. This is a very special find.

Habitat:

This vertiginid snail is distributed throughout most of Europe, however it is most common in southern ans eastern England. Desmoulin’s whorl snails typically inhabit the leaves of wetland plants. Where they will browse on algae and fungi that grow on the plants.

I've moved this snail from the Arthropod category to the Other category for you. Snails and slugs are Mollusks. Arthropods have an exoskeleton and jointed limbs in at least one phase of their life. Think dragonfly, bee, crab, and ant.
