Pallas's Mastiff Bat

Molossus molossus

Description:

I found this "Molossus molossus" fallen in the theater stage of my city. So I took some pictures and put in a high place. The "Molossus molossus" its a kind of bat that can't fly by the floor. It need be in a high place to can fly.

Habitat:

I found this specimen on a region of transition between the Atlantic Forest and Cerrado.

Notes:

Some people (including some ecologists) formulate the hypothesis that the myth that "old rats turn into bats," arose from the Molossidae family. On the ground, the molossids look like a mouse, and, as they need to climb to get height for the flight, some have the impression that "a mouse got wings."
