Koi fish

(Cyprinus carpio)

Description:

•The Kohaku is a white Koi on which hi (red) appears in varying patterns. Each of these patterns have been given its own name. The markings of the Kohaku should bright and even all over the body. The markings on the body should not spread down past the lateral line and There should be no Hi (red) in the fin`s or tail.

Habitat:

•As all other varieties of carps, the Koi fish like fresh still water environments, with temperatures of 64 degrees Fahrenheit at least, as stated by the Fisheries and Aquaculture Department of Food and Agriculture Organization. As a product of artificial selection (man made), Koi fish don't occur naturally in the wild, as the other carps. In this context, the usually man-made koi pond has become the "natural" habitat of koi fish. If koi becomes a feral fish, which "escaped" to the wild, it is likely to crossbreed with carps. In this case, its colorful features are not fully transmitted to the next generations.

Notes:

•There are several mathematical formulas that can tell you the ideal number of Koi fish you should have in your pond. You can calculate the ideal number of Koi fish per gallon, per cubic feet, per square surface foot and so on. Irrespective of the calculations, if you can maintain a healthy Koi pond using mechanical and chemical options, you can have more Koi fish per gallon. •Koi fish is a type of fish that belongs to the domesticated and ornamental variant of the "carp" family. These types of ornamental pet fish are widely domesticated and available to almost all parts of the world (except Antarctica). So if you are thinking of having Koi fish as you pet, it is important that you must know all the essential information regarding on how to properly take care of the Koi fish. Also, it is very important that you must know everything there is to know in taking care of the Koi fish. •Proper care for the Koi fish also means that you must know the seasonal care of your pet fish. That is because Koi fish have different caring needs in every season. For example, during spring season, you must give extra attention on the water temperature of the garden pond or aquarium of the Koi fish. That is because the temperature of the water during this season is irregular meaning it can either rise or fall in an instant (which is not good for the pet fish).
