Thank you a lot, EarlyStages. I want to get back to where I spotted this, but it's been raining for almost a week now. One interesting thing about this chrysalis is that i saw the butterfly in the same place, but I sill didn't see the caterpillar there. The one I posted before was spotted around 30 Km away.
This chrysalis is probably parasitized or perhaps freshly formed. Compare Trop. Lepid. 5(1), 1994: "Juvenile stages of Ithomiinae: overview and systematics (Lepidoptera: Nymphalidae)", Fig. 5-I. Assuming correct pupal ID, here's the caterpillar . . .
