South American Common Toad

Rhinella margaritifera

Description:

Medium to large toad of varying colors from cinnamon red to nearly black. Heavy ridge down each side of the body and a pointed snout

Habitat:

Very common in the Amazon rainforest of SE Ecuador.

Notes:

This one was enjoying an after-rain soak right outside our house.
