The gall is a growth that forms on plants. It can be caused by insects, fungi and bacteria, parasites and mites. These items cause a bump on the plant and grows out. This gall was found on the sumac plant on Little Chebeague.

Found on all kinds of plants

We found galls on lots of trees on small plants such as golden rod.
