Frenchs Longicorn

Batocera frenchii

Description:

Two Frenchs longicorn beetles mating. Very large, absolutely stunning and very rare beetles, found from Nth NSW through to Cape York in rainforest. The larvae of this species bores through native figs. The antennae of the male are much longer than its body, the females are about the same length as the body. These two were spotted on the trunk of a fallen tree - A real treat to see them!

Habitat:

Tropical to subtropical rainforest - Rare.
