Lactifluus volemus
Attractive, brownish orange mushrooms. The velvety caps had inrolled margins and were mostly flat with central depressions. the gills were attached to the stem and were creamy white, but discolored brown when injured. The stipe was colored similar to the cap, but more pale.
Growing on the ground in a deciduous forest.
They produce white milk, which will stain everything it touches brown. This species also has a fishy odor, which intensifies after the mushrooms have been picked.
