Tawny Owl

Strix aluco

Notes:

This owl was spotted on a festival on one of the castles in Slovakia. As one of the attractions, there were two birds beeing shown to the public. The owl is privately held by the girl showing it to us. So, it lives in captivity.

Thanks Karen and Jacob. This owl was spotted on a festival on one of the castles in Slovakia. As one of the attractions, there were two birds beeing shown to the public. I didn't upload the spotting of the other bird, only this owl. In that time it didn't come to my mind to ask what kind this is. Sorry for that. As far as I understood the story, the owl is privately held by the girl showing it to us. So, yes it is captive. Will update the info on the spotting.

What a lovely owl!
Can you let us know where you saw it in the notes so we can tell it is captive. I've ticked the "Help me ID this species" box for you so the community can help you find the exact species.
