Description:

wings are brown (sometimes very dark brown), forewing gold/yellow spots, underside metallic silver band or white. 1.75 - 2.875 inch wingspan (4.5 - 6.7 cm) Prefers blue, red, purple or pink flowers. Rarely yellow. Largest Skipper in North America.

Habitat:

Most of Continental USA. Prefers meadows, fields, edge of woods.
