Wheel Bug (nymph)

Arilus cristatus

Description:

It was a half inch long. We found it on our green onions inside.

Notes:

Since spotting this, we've seen a lot out here in the woods of the Ozark foothills. We read that they eat aphids...so does this mean they are good garden bugs? I hope so because that's where I've been tossing them whenever I find one.
