Mother Shield Fern

Polystichum proliferum


Medium sized fern to 1m tall, common in wet scelerophyll forest. Spreads vegetatively via forming little ferns on the ends of fronds which take root when old fronds drop to the ground. Easily propagated via collecting plantlets from the ends of fronds.
