American Cockroach

Description:

Brown cockroach, about one inch long, rolled inverted and near death, kicking its legs in a futile reaction to an assault by decomposers who didn't have the decency to wait until the decomposee had expired before starting their work.

Habitat:

Insular tropical mixed lowland forest.

Notes:

Spotted in the middle of the trail along the upper switchbacks pf Kealia Trail.
