Description:

Photo take near home in ajungle path this Acacia tree is one of the most common in the Yucatan Peninsual and south Mexico small ball flowers light yellow color come in branches that hangs for the weight visit by many bees as well, hard wood very strong trees. The genus Acacia previously contained roughly 1300 species, about 960 of them native to Australia,The leaves of acacias are compound pinnate in general.

Habitat:

Found on the tropical to warm-temperate regions of both hemispheres, including Europe, Africa, southern Asia, and the Americas and Australia.

Notes:

Acacia species have possible uses in folk medicine.An astringent medicine high in tannins, called catechu or cutch, is procured from several species, but more especially from Acacia catechu, by boiling down the wood and evaporating the solution so as to get an extract. The catechu extract from Acacia catechu figures in the history of chemistry in giving its name to the catechin, catechol, and catecholamine chemical families ultimately derived from it. Wikipedia.
