Common Snapping Turtle

Description:

This snapping turtle is a medium-sized male with several leeches noticeable on his forelimbs. Leech parasitism is common for this aquatic turtle species.

Habitat:

Spotted at large stream running through Missouri State University's Darr Agricultural facility.
