Omphalotus subilludens
Yellowish/orange blossom-like fungi. Growing directly from ground outward from a sandy soil covered in thick grass. Under section has gill-like formation. No scent. Consistency was that of shelf fungi.
In a County Park in a pinewood type area about 8-10 feet off the park's road. Had primarily full sun. Except early a.m. hours.
O. subilludens is one of four NA species Omphalotus. This species is found in southeastern U.S. The reported glow from it gills is associated w/ some sesquiterpenes called illudins.
