Asclepias viridiflora

Description:

Common name derives from its erect, zig-zag, unbranched stem which may be 1-3 feet tall. Generally the leaves are broadly elliptic to suborbicular, with a notch at the apex. A single hemispherical inflorescense may grow from each of the uppermost nodes.

Habitat:

Dry prairie of section 39 in the LBJ National Grasslands.
