Hi Isabella! After checking many images and having no direct observation of them myself I preferred to leave it at the genus level as it felt too much like a gamble indeed:-).
FYI here is the one I spotted in Ethiopia; easier there as there is only one species!

Hi Daniele,

I have compared the two and I think I would gamble on Xerus princeps because of the lighter stripe on the flanks. When I look on a bigger picture the line is clearer. What do you think ?
