Straw-necked Ibis

Threskiornis spinicollis

Notes:

Seen on the outskirts of Tambo in central Queensland. I was very excited to see ibis that weren't Australian White Ibis! Apparently these guys prefer wet and dry grasslands, pastures, croplands and swamp or lagoon margins, and are rarely found on coastal shores, mudflats or mangroves. Their diet mainly consists of grasshoppers and locusts.
