I reckon that's him. He's just dirty. Poor thing probably hasn't got a clue where he's ended up. Looks like you would have had some serious washing to do after that expedition Rachael.

Good luck! Most of my frog IDs are guesses, no one ever seems to know what they are for sure unless it's something really common like a green tree frog! ; )

Thanks Shanna, I did see the common froglet earlier but was put off because it is so small <30mm. I think my frog has a relatively smooth back it's just the mud on it that makes it look rough.
The description for the marsh frog on wiki has "There are distinct darker stripes running down the frogs back (giving this species it name), there is normally a paler mid-dorsal stripe running down the back. There is a black "mask" that runs from the nostril, through the eye and down to the shoulder. This "mask" is followed by a thick light golden line that runs underneth the "mask" and terminates at the end of the mouth." And it grows up to 65mm which fits better with mine. But as I am no expert either, I'd like more confirmation ;-)

Frogs are so tricky. I'm definitely not an expert, but I don't think it's a Striped Marsh Frog as they are smooth, and yours has a really rough back. He's pretty muddy so it's hard to see the markings really well, but my best guess is the Eastern Common Froglet (Crinia signifera) - look at that stripe down the middle of the back, and the long toes on the back feet.
