You see some great birds out there! I still haven't seen a purple finch or rusty blackbird. Thanks! He was so exciting to find :)

I appreciate the help. I see so much when I make the trek to Hagerman my mind sometimes swirls. The little birds look so different out there in the wide open space. Loved the long eared owl you saw :)

I don't know why it didn't click at first. There was one of these guys at the park I frequently go birding at and I tried about 5 times to find it and never could. They're actually in range for you though!

Thanks AshleyT. :) I agree and have edited the photo and information. Will put the lower sparrow up as another spotting.

Head looks female house sparrow and body looks like house finch. The streaked breast is preventing me from calling it a house sparrow, but I can tell you it's not a song sparrow.

Thank LindaKing2 :) These two were the same and seemed small for a redwing. I took a look at your suggestion and the cheeks are not light like a redwing, but grayish. Had clouds, so light was an issue coming and going.

The top bird looks like a female Red-winged Blackbird.
