Description:

The Indian Paintbrush have bloomed very well and for a long time. Still seeing one or two. The red in the bloom are bracts, like poinsettia.

Habitat:

Riparian meadow.

Notes:

They are hemiparasitic on the roots of grasses and forbs. Indian Paintbrush sends out roots until it meets another root system, then it attaches to the other root system to obtain its nutrients.
