Nymphaea alba
It grows in water from 30-150 centimeters deep and likes large ponds and lakes. The leaves can be up to thirty centimeters in diameter and they take up a spread of 150 centimeters per plant. The flowers are white and they have many small stamens inside.
Found all over Europe and in parts of North Africa and the Middle East in freshwater.

You're right, Scott - that's confusing...changed the common name.
Nice Lars! While indeed called "lotus" by some, this is actually a water lily (Nymphaeaceae). Water lotuses are superficially similar but belong to a different family (Nelumbonaceae).
Thanks, Sachin - yes, that was a bit lucky..I have to admit that I was going for the frog...but i couldn't reach it closer. That made the blossom come in focus :)
