Red-winged Blackbird

Agelaius phoeniceus

Description:

Male

Notes:

This male red-winged blackbird was taking turns with its mate protecting a nearby nest. He would fly overhead making all kinds of noise to get my attention and then fly to a nearby tree to draw me away from the nest.

Hi leske.david, welcome to Project Noah. Where you know the species, like in this and your other spottings, we ask that you check Wikipedia or the Encyclopedia of Life for the scientific name and add it as this is really how PN data is stored. You should also add the reference site URL to your spotting. Thanks.
Your birds are lovely.
