Icterus galbula
The male oriole is slightly larger than the female. Adults have a pointed bill and white bars on the wings. The adult male is orange on the underparts, shoulder patch and rump. All of the rest of the male is black.
This male is one of a family that have nested in the area for several years. If you look in the sky, area you will see a glimpse of a second male coming into the same tree. Their nesting area is in a hardwood riparian forest along the edge of Lake Lewisville, TX.
The Baltimore Oriole (Icterus galbula) is a small icterid blackbird that commonly occurs in eastern North America as a migratory breeding bird. This bird received its name from the fact that the male's colors resemble those on the coat-of-arms of Lord Baltimore.
