Halcyon smyrnensis (fusca)
Large Kingfisher (about 30cm) with a bright blue back, tail and wings, redbrown head, shoulders, flank and lower belly, white chest/throat, large red bill and red legs.
Near jungle and the moat of Sigirya Rock.
We just stood still for a bit and saw this kingfisher, fishing. And in between all the fishing he kept his appearances up for us! What a pretty sight, I can never get enough of it!
