Eastern Bluebird

Sialia sialis

Description:

My neighbor has a bluebird box, and a pair has raised at least one brood there this year. I had 4 males and 1 female feeding at my feeders on a regular basis this spring. I am down to two males and two females now. The male and female are rarely next to each other, swapping trips to feeders and back to their nest. They will perch on the fence together, insight of the nest. They chase chipmunks away by dive-bombing them.
