Silene vulgaris
This plant has a slender stem with small, smooth, pointed leaves. The calyx (the part behind where the petals are) is swollen and oval shaped. The petals are delicate and white (this flower is on the tail end of blooming). It is native to Europe but is widespread in North America. This plant is edible.
