Monk Parakeet

Myiopsitta monachus

Description:

Monk Parakeet. They are originally from South America but they live in Mexico now due to birds escaped from captivity. They build bulky stick nests among the branches, both for raising young and for sleeping in at night (last 2 photos).

Habitat:

They were in big yucas in a hotel garden.

Notes:

A friend of mine told me about the nests but I was lucky to find the parakeets.
