Coragyps atratus
2 of more than 60 Black Vultures at this location. Black Vultures stopped vehicular traffic a number of times as the birds crossed back and forth across the street and stood in the street. The vultures were in at least eight trees on both sides of the street, on the front and back porch of a house, down the dirt path beyond the house and in a field across the street from the house. In addition to the mutual preening, there were a few brief squabbles, where one would open its wings and run/fly/chase another across the street or in the front yard. Update: Similar quantities of Black Vultures continue to be seen within a half mile of this location for last three consecutive weekends.

Ha ha Ava... just what I thought. What a great last shot.
“Your spotting has been nominated for the Spotting of the Week. The winner will be chosen by the Project Noah Rangers based on a combination of factors including: uniqueness of the shot, status of the organism (for example, rare or endangered), quality of the information provided in the habitat and description sections. There is a subjective element, of course; the spotting with the highest number of Ranger votes is chosen. Congratulations on being nominated!”
Is there perhaps a dead body in that house?!
Interesting....
