Damsel bug

Family: Nabidae

Description:

Approx. 14mm long this little stabbing/sucking bug has multi-toned brown colours. Large front femurs.

Habitat:

Stalking on the local school walls under night security lights.

Notes:

Thanks Lauren. Similar to assassin bugs but with a narower body. The front pair of legs is enlarged to help deal with prey. Antennae and rostrum have four segments each.

Thanks Lauren - that thought did cross my mind especially being a brown one. Most of our Nabids are boringl markings and pale browns but I'll check that group when I get to searching for it.
