Grizzled Mantid

Gonatista grisea

Description:

Appears to be some sort of mantid? Front legs were tucked in, but appeared to be "grabbers" like a normal mantis. Head and eyes very mantis- like as well. Looks like lichen. About 2 inches long. Very cool looking!!

Habitat:

My front porch. Area is a former long leaf pine / turkey oak sandhill habitat.

Grizzled Mantid (not Mantis, please, correct!), some kind of a bark mantis. Yours is the female.
