Common Blue Damselfly

Enallagma cyathigerum

Description:

Blue and black shaded body with a brighter metallic blue on the upper body. It is a male because it is the brightest blue, it also has blue eyes and dark blue wings.

Habitat:

I found him in our back yard near our pond by the cool damp grass behind the rocks. I see more in the early morning and especially at sunset. I have seen one with food flying by it has something very bright greenish yellow and slender worm like but it was moving to fast for me to photograph.
