Chrysochroa rajah thailandica Y. Kurosawa, 1978
Thai name: แมลงทับราชาไทย
phuket, thailand
another who showed up dead at the office
It does have the red stripes, although showed poorly in the pictures. Thank you very much for helping! I really appreciate it :D
This beetle is from the genus Chrysochroa.
Thailand has C. rajah with a longitudinal red stripe along the elytra and red patches on the pronotum. I can almost see the red striped but they are almost invisible from this (frontal) angle. http://www.malaeng.com/blog/?p=2161
Some images lack the red stripes so I assume this species to be C. rajah. http://insects.wikia.com/wiki/Chrysochro...
