Blue Dasher

Pachydiplax longipennis

Notes:

This dragonfly almost looked red when he flew. Unfortunately, this was as close as I was able to get and only snapped one or two photos before he was on his way.

This individual is a female Blue Dasher dragonfly. She is "obelisking," that is, pointing her tail toward the Sun in order to avoid overheating.
