2-20 inches wide. Cap is hard, semicirular or fan-shaped, pale to dark gray or gray-brown, with ridges or furrows underside white to pale brown. Bruises dark brown. step absent. Overwinters.

Habitat:

On logs and stumps of broad-leaved trees, in wounds of living trees. This is on a Maple Tree.
