Weaver Ant Queen

Oecophylla smaragdina

Description:

This is a weaver ant queen that i found on the citrus tree in my backyard. This ant queen is green in color, and it lay its eggs on the leaf of that citrus tree. The size of this ant queen is about 20 mm in length.

Habitat:

- Spotted on the citrus tree in my backyard. Usually, it can be found around the garden and bushes.

Notes:

- Weaver Ants are social insects of the family Formicidae. They make nests in trees made of leaves stitched together using the silk produced by their larvae. In Malay, it's called 'Kerengga'.
