Achaearanea propera
This small spider with a body about 8 mm long looked much like a pholcid (daddy-long-legs).Its translucent banded legs arched high up and held close to the body. The abdomen showed brown and white patterns and a black patch on the dorsal side. Cephalothorax was plain and translucent. Four small eyes were seen in a row and perhaps two more above these on either side of the midline. On either side and anterior to the thorax ( and slightly inferior to the eyes) were two knob-like structures - probably stubs of the first pair of legs. The spider appeared to be tending to a silky mass.
Spotted on the outer wall of a building - suburban garden.
