Rock Hyrax

Procavia capensis

Description:

Close to the River Camp in Tarangire National Park, Tanzania, there was this hyrax (aka "dassie" in South Africa) living in one of the trees. Despite its habitat, this individual is a rock hyrax and not a tree hyrax (vaguely resembling an oversize guinea pig).
