Description:

Blue ending in black abdomen, black thorax and black head, orange/red terminal appendages.

Habitat:

Near pond.

Notes:

Black Tail Skimmer? Blue Corporal? Blue Dasher? Going to compare region with time of season for more help to ID.

If its face were green then I'd say it's a male Eastern Pondhawk. Maybe a male Blue Corporal.

Added another picture but it really just gives a better representation of its size compared to the leaf.

I'm not sure what species of dragonfly this is (do you have any other photos?), but I'm sure it's not a Blue Dasher. Blue Dashers have green eyes and a white face.
